The Tom Sharp Jazz Orchestra began life as a rehearsal big band in Leeds, but has swiftly become one of West Yorkshire's most in-demand jazz ensembles.

The band started by performing at the legendary Seven Arts Christmas Concert, and shortly after went on to win the prestigious Great North Big Band Competition (2016). With Tom Sharp as musical director, the band plays music from all across the big band repertoire of the twentieth century, focusing on the big swingers of the 50s, as well as showcasing arrangements from members of the orchestra.

Current Personnel:
Saxophones: Ben Lowman, Jack Chandler (alto), Rose Perry, Laurie Covell (tenor), James Boyes (bari)
Trumpets: Tom Sharp (ld), Joe Roughton, Ciaran Diston, James Hamilton

Trombones: Tom I'Anson (ld), Chris Burge, Danny Barley, Pat Martin (bass)
Rhythm: Will Powell (gtr), Sam Jackson (bass), Chris Bland (keys), Jack Amblin (drums)

The Tom Sharp Orchestra are occasionally honoured to welcome Harry Orme and Phil Lyons as guest vocalists.
